The JNTUK University College of Engineering Narasaraopet  (UCEN) was started in June 2016 with Five Under Graduate Engineering Courses  Viz., B.Tech. in Civil, EEE, Mechanical, ECE and CSE as a constituent college of JNTUK, Kakinada. The Andhra Pradesh State Government has allotted 85.94 Acres land in Kakani village, Narasaraopet Mandal for the institute under G.O.Ms.NO.72 and North East of the land is just at the foot of Kotappa  Konda. The College was temporarily housed in NBT Degree College campus in Palnadu Road, Narasaraopet before moving to its permanent campus at Kakani.
