The department was established during the inception of the institute in 2016 as the department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering (EEE). Since its commencement, the primary objective of the department is to impart quality education, training, and research at the undergraduate level in various areas of Electrical and Electronics Engineering with broad emphasis on design aspects of electrical systems. This programme aims at producing engineers with sound knowledge in electrical engineering and a strong background in electronics.

The department is also offering M.Tech Programme in Power Electronics from the academic year 2022-2023.This course aims at training graduate engineers in the field of Power Electronics, with the state-of-the-art techniques in system-level modelling analysis, design and integration of motor drives, renewable energy technologies, smart grids and electric vehicles. The course also covers advanced topics in digital signal processors and embedded controllers, which are very much needed for today’s Power Electronics engineer. The Program culminates with a project work in which the students are encouraged to work on specific areas involving design, simulation, fabrication and testing of any power electronics system having research/industrial application values. The major areas of faculty expertise of the department include Power Electronics and Drives, Power Systems & Control Systems.
